In January 2016, I wrote an article titled
United Nations Non Malaria FDCs With Malaria Cachets
and in the article I wrote about six anti-malaria cachets which were used for non anti-malaria stamp issues.
Below is an example of one of the First Day Covers (FDC) and of course the one that is of interest.
The text in the cachet reads "THE GOVERNMENT OF IRAN WITH AID FROM (UNICEF) AND (WHO) IS CONDUCTING A NATION-WIDE FIVE-YEAR CAMPAIGN TO ERADICATE MALARIA FROM THE COUNTRY"
During the summer, I found and purchased the photograph which was used for cachet. This photograph would be considered a "Photo Essay" of the cachet.
Image side of a doctor as he prepared to take a blood smear from her finger.
The back of the picture has the following text: "In Iran, the souful eyes of a child seek trust in the hands of a doctor as he prepared to take a blood smear from her finger. The campaign was aimed at eliminating malaria. -UPI Photo"
